Hello, I’m Nina
I’m a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Art Psychotherapist, offering both talking psychotherapy and art psychotherapy as distinct approaches. I work with adults aged 18+, offering a warm, compassionate and thoughtful space to explore what’s happening for you at your own pace. I have worked across inpatient and outpatient settings within the NHS, as well as in private practice. I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, relationship and identity difficulties, menopause and women’s health concerns, mixed cultural identities, or those who feel stuck, disconnected or unfulfilled in their lives.
A space to understand yourself
Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating patterns, feeling overwhelmed, struggling in relationships, or simply knowing that something doesn’t feel right without knowing why. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down and explore your experiences, relationships and patterns of behaviour, including how your past may have shaped the way you understand yourself and relate to others. Together, we can make sense of difficult feelings, develop greater self-understanding and explore new possibilities.
Creative psychotherapy
Alongside talking therapy, I offer art psychotherapy for those who would like to explore their experiences creatively. This might include painting, drawing, clay, collage, sand tray or poetry. You don’t need to be artistic or have any previous experience with art. Art psychotherapy isn’t about creating something beautiful; creative work can offer another way to express and explore feelings, memories and experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
My approach
My way of working is relational, warm, adaptable and trauma-informed. My training and experience are rooted in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking, with a particular focus on attachment and how our earlier experiences can influence our lives and relationships. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes, simply knowing that you want things to feel different is enough of a starting point.
Taking the first step
I offer a free 30-minute telephone call so we can introduce ourselves, talk about what has brought you to therapy and consider whether I might be the right therapist for you. If you’re considering therapy, I’d be very happy to hear from you.
