Welcome. It helps to talk, and to think with someone about what’s on your mind. Therapy offers a unique space to be listened to.
Starting therapy may feel daunting, but often begins from a place of suffering and a wish for something to change.
Anxiety, sadness and/or depression may be stopping you from living the life you want. You may feel stuck or lost, or frustrated with patterns you can’t seem to shift. Perhaps you are navigating changes, coping with bereavement or have experienced a profound loss.
These crisis moments are often a call to personal growth and development, and sometimes to find a new path in life.
It may not feel clear quite what brings you to look for therapy. A psychoanalytic approach holds curiosity not only for the conscious lived experience but also to what may be experienced and expressed unconsciously.
I offer a blended approach that integrates psychoanalytic theory and Creative Psychotherapy. Sessions primarily involve talking, but we can also use creative techniques – a variety of possibilities including art, body, breath, mind, dream work and creative visualisation.
I have over a decade of clinical experience working therapeutically with groups and individuals in the NHS, in specialist schools and private practice. I work with trainee counsellors and therapists, offering individual therapy and for 5 years I have facilitated the experiential groups for psychodynamic counsellors in training on the training programme at the Tunbridge Wells Counselling Centre.
I have trained in a range of theories and modalities: psychoanalytic (“depth”) work (Jung, Freud, Object Relations), creative psychotherapy, CBT, and psychoanalytic groupwork. I am influenced by embodied work, somatic practices and martial arts.
I work with adult clients, in person on a one to one basis.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
I see clients weekly, or more regularly as required.
